Agreed. I think the TMBA and B1 do a very difficult and good job, and try to represent most Thames motor boaters interests. I am a member.
the attempts to encourage folks to get on their bikeshas advantages for all .....
It helps to reduce congestion by way of removing commuters from roads,it improves the health of the population in general by reducing pollution especially in cities....
and is healthy exercise !
not sure that chugging up the Thames while sitting on ones bum, emitting untreated fumes, handing your rope to a lockie and then turning round and coming back down again has quite the same effect on public health.![]()
What are the extremist views on here or the river B1 ?
Why don't you go along to the meeting and sit beside each other? You seem to share very similar views and might even find out you are twins who were separated at birth! We know what they are up against, total Muppets, problem is we dont have anyone that represents our views.
Oh we know what they are up against, muppets and the term "reps" is not accurate, they arent representing us.
So buy a train ticket to go and sit in a room, and bite your tongue for hours. Nah, you are not selling it to me.
If we cant talk, no point.
It is your responsibility when you take membership fees from people to represent their views not just yours.
So are you a member???
Not for much longer
Used to be. Got fed up with broken record

The trouble is, thats all they do.
Spout the same political misery that leads nowhere, despite all the talk.
Neither post anything positive about the wonderful boating experiences, holidays, weekends out on the river or meetings with groups of other happy boaters.
It's dragged the forum down to the extent many people don't bother any more. The same boring old drivel day after day.....:disgust:
I rather than cheap polluting flights and money spent abroad. .
Is chugging up and down the same bit of river as dull as ditchwater?![]()
Cycling does nothing for the economy, it costs everyone money. What's wrong with chugging up and down the same 100(anything higher than a NB or a Freeman)miles of navigable Thames? I thoroughly enjoy it. I think I'm extremely lucky to live next to it and after travelling around most of the world by plane and motorbike I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be.err... thought your post was concerned with the goverment squandering zillions on cyclingrather than promoting the advantages of chugging up and down the same bit of river again and again and .....and again
