Thames Moorings - draft 3'3"

Would be grateful for suggestions on bookable moorings on non tidal suitable for a draft of 3'3". Looking for a weeks trip "up river" starting at Windsor. (Mooring with MDL so I already have those factored in). Many thanks.

Wow, big question!! Almost every lock has overnight moorings available, some you can call and book, others not.

The vast majority of riverside moorings are first come first served, but you will always find somewhere to overnight even if not on the popular first choice places.

Whereabouts are you looking at? Will help narrow down your question a bit....

Hi Many thanks for your reply. I should have been more specific, but am totally open and would appreciate suggestions for a week or a little more away in late July or August. I have previously ventured only as far up river as Henley. My own thoughts this time were Marlow, Henley, Sonning, Pangbourne, Streatley, Benson, Wittenham. Perhaps one stop on the way up river and an alternate on the way back down. Really concern I have is draft as I draw a metre

Party will include a 13 year old, a disabled (able to walk short distances, but otherwise wheelchair) and a dog!

I would of thought 3' 3" poses almost no restrictions on moorings up to at least Oxford. At this time of year plenty of options, more difficult in July & August, but you'll always find somewhere.

My plan is either an early start and early stop or very late stop and hope all the marina queens have gone back into their adjacent marinas.
On the Mudway, there was one notorious local marina where half the marina would decamp,travel about 100 feet to the only decent bit of mooring for miles clog it up for most of the day and evening,then all go back just as it got dark.
An adjacent marina was full of the types who would leave all the lock paddles up in their hurry to get home,making a lot of work for any poor so and so following them. Grrr...
