I just had a discussion with Ceil at T&K, about my current moorings.

I just recieved the renewal notice dated from 1st June, at a similar price to last year, but have decided to relocate to Bray and enjoy the superior entertainment there, what with me being a BCC member now and all that...

Anyway, I explained that we couldn't move No Regrets immediately, and that I would pay for the extra week or two, but my offer was dismissed with a counter offer to leave her there for a week or three at no charge, and an open invitation to return at any time. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Now how kind is that? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

For the record, our experience at T&K has been absolutely unblemished, and even bearing in mind the recommendations for Bray, and the extra perks in the form of BCC, many of our new friends (Ramage, Jaws etc) being located in the vicinity, it's going to be very very hard to leave /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It's even 10 miles closer to home.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

On the bright side, we have a new stretch of Thames to explore, some new pubs, and hopefully a few of the remaining lockies to meet too.... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

So, Thanks to Thames and Kennet for a wonderful year, all the staff for their help to a couple of new boaters, and all the lockies from Goring to Marlow, we'll miss you all.

Watch out Bray /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh 'eck; quick calculation means that you will now be in striking distance of the St Aines "Massive"

{edit} - i mean, look forward to seeing you on the lower upper /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just look out for the mast topped by a Skull and Crossbones, also the BCC burgee*... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I thought only hire boats flew the Skull & Crossbones. The first thing a hire boater seems to buy as he thinks he is being original.
Beware! if flying it though, I believe the Royal Navy need give no warning before firing upon any vessel flying a Skull and Crossbones /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Phew....I thought you were going to give me a row-locking about the club burgee not being on top /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'll have to watch out for that MTB then /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yes, it was unlucky the Kent sailpast coincided with the German Navy submarine event wasn't it...? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Even better news, T&K took a deposit on Shamby today, although £4K below asking.

I accepted it, because I feel prices are still going to drop, and if I want to trade up again, I'll just wait for the bottom to drop out of the market (Due to high fuel prices and potential buyers difficulty/ reluctance to borrow tens of thousands of pounds)

That said, and as much as I would sell my Granny to buy a Broom 31, the Birchwood suits our requirements, and we really love her.

So I'll keep the cash, assuming they pay the balance.... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time at Bray with you fine people, and look forward to some long treks back up to Mapledurham and beyond when we get homesick.

T'will also be nice to get No Regrets onto the tidal section, and see if she gets up on the plane (Will they do it with 60bhp???)
or load her up with Semtex and visit Big ben /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well you could drop your store of semtex by the prop. This may result in a short burst onto the plane, but followed by a slight sinking caused by the removal of your Cockpit following said explosion!!

It needs some work I know!!!
