Thames Estuary One Design \'Ripple\'

Hi I have sail no.2 in this class and would like to know of any others especially no.1 ! I know they were built in 1912 in Tollesbury for the Alexandra Sailing Club in Southend and desighed by Morgan Giles. Any info would be great !

Hiya Swifty and welcome to the forum. Frankly mate I don't think you will have much joy posing that question here. Apart from anything else such a craft as yours is a very rare animal and will only be known to afficionados of that sort of class. You are unlikely to find such an animal here. I could be wrong, I would like to be wrong, I'd like for someone to give you chapter and verse but don't hold your breath.

Thank you for your help, it was through a google search that lead me to this forum. It was a discussion that went on in 2006 and I thought it may be worth asking again, in case the members were still active watchers of posted questions. Anyway you never know !

In reply to your request, my father Ron Franklin owned thames estuary one design, No 1 she was called BREEZE and was one of several tods raced by thurrock yacht club ,i crewed for dad on many races which she won ,she was painted black with a gold pin stripe ,i have many pics of her ,we were made very welcome at a race at southend on sea ,due to her being No 1 and at Hole Haven

Just shows you how wrong you can be , Dad owned No 1 T.O.D..i was also a laminator/boat builder at thames marine making the GRP T.O.D,s as well as Snapdragons 24 ,and the Elizabethan fin keel .
