A friend has unearthed 2 TC registration plaques that he would like to pass on to the current boat owner but can find no route to ascertaining existence of the boat or current owners.
Anyone any suggestions?

Sorry, can't get the attachment to attach. Tells me it exceeds my limit?!!

Plaques are from the 1930's and one includes the boat name "Lady Gladys" and the registration covered Boulters to Hurley.

I can check on NLS when i return to work , more up to date than Jims page. If it isn't currently registered , it will tell me when it was last registered on the Thames ( within reason ) .

I won't be able to give out addresses if i find it , but am happy to act as an intermediary .
 
I've had a few old TC plates with names on out with the magnet. The vast majority of plates I've had out and others I've seen are unnamed. What interests me is what did someone have to do to get the boat name onto the license plate?

Maybe it was to do with boat size, or steam boats.

The named plates are all regional plates with two lock names indicating the boundaries of use, I guess.

I have quite a few others (too heavy to pick then all up in one go) but none of the others have names, they are mainly the hexagonal 'private' plates and the oval black/white ones, which are virtually untraceable except that they (the oval ones) indicate the boat station to which the vessel in question belonged which is quite nice.
