Hi Guys , Am I right in thinking the tidal Thames is closed to leisure craft during the olympics. If so anyone know the exact closure dates ? Is there a website on the subject ?

We fancy a trip to St kats in the summer but coming up from the west country have to time it right to fit Weymouth in aswell.

Cheers

Terry

It's not closed, but some special restrictions apply, the most relevant being that you have to be able to prove you have a pre-booked destination mooring either within the Thames Olympic zone, or beyond it to transit. If you have not already booked in London, St Kats or anywhere else, then it is most unlikely you will now find an available mooring (even if ou happen to have a few thou quid to spare!!).

The PLA website has lots of good guidance for boaters during the Olympics. There are also a few good threads o here already too.

Good luck.
