Thames Clippers(Boating with the Enemy}

Oldgit and a few chums want to visit the O2 to see that exibition where the German quack is displaying the odd old cadaver or two.
A Thames clipper day pass (£12) seems to be just the ticket to whizz into town for a beer and a bite afterwards.
Does anybody know just how far the Cats come down river,will need to to park locally and get on and how far up they go for a bit of a scenic river trip .Almost certainly will be a weekend.

The clippers run from Waterloo (By the London Eye) up to the O2.

(In fact some go on to Woolwich).

I travelled with them on the weekend of the Great River Race. Good service.

Parking is probably easiest at the O2 itself - unless you fancy having a go at Woolwich. If you do park at Woolwich though, be careful of the schedules, there is no service to Woolwich later in the evening. There is something called the Woolwich Shuttle at weekends which runs to the O2 where you get the regular boat.

Other than these, minor, complications, I would use the Clipper without hesitation - best way to get around IMHO.

My wife and kids took part in the Great River Race (in two separate entries).They said that the Thames Clippers were better than most at giving them space and minimising wash.

The trip boats on the other hand were very bad, causing swamping and at least one near sinking.

The clipers are terrible when slowing down or speeding up, which they do often at piers!

I've never understood why the PLA don't enforce their regulations about dangerous wash; the only time they seem interested is it is private pleasure boats.
