often see those thames canoes going up and down the river (the hire ones) - but saw one on sunday which shocked me a bit
We passed by them at Queens Eyot (narrow bit of the river - so was quite close to them), and saw it was being paddled by two women, and there sitting in front of one of them was a baby, no more then a few months old!
None of them, including the baby which was just laying in the middle of the canoe, had any lifejackets or bouyancy aids on. Now I don't have kids, so perhaps I am not best to judge, but surely this was madness. I have seen a few people capsize in those canoes over the years and would hate to think what would happen if that canoe capsized.
