Thames boatyard facilities rejuvenated (Hucks)

The Hucks Boatyard facilities at Hampton have recently been brought back into life by Tim Barfield Marine (also of Hampton). The yard has been unused for over 10 years. Sadly most of the engineering equipment has been lost to the ravages of time but the dry docks have been brought back into use - one covered and 60 feet long, the other around 100 feet. The crane has also been saved and is now in use. Unusual these days to witness increase in boatyard facilities, sadly it tends to be the opposite.

Thats handy to know . Any idea of charges ?

I believe that charges are significantly lower than those for the (publicly available) EA dry dock at Sunbury. Narrowboats just sit on their bottom but I understand that there's quite a lot of chocking and blocking to get a motor cruiser safely held, thus generally for larger craft I would expect. Tim Barfield Marine (020 8941 2676) already has a slipway for boats max 40 feet/ 20 tons, and a further sling lift for craft up to about 10feet wide.
