Morning all, so I read that the barrier is being closed today for its annual test. Anyone know what the impact will be on the river up to Richmond? Barrier will be closed from LW so I'm wondering if that means low tide at Richmond all day and therefore sluices deployed and need to use the lock? First timer here looking to head downriver from Teddington today but was rather hoping on going this afternoon around high water to keeps things simple and ensure a few more feet of water under the boat.

Answer = yes, Thames Barrier testing impacts river conditions at Richmond. As barrier was closed at LW the sluices were deployed all day as there was no incoming tide to raise water levels. Needed to lock through to progress upstream or downstream past Richmond.
