Thames advice needed pls

2 things, does anyone have any inside info re Marsh Lock....due to open 24th March but little work seemed to in progress when I looked on Sunday. Is it likely to be open before?
Also, hoping to move from Wargrave to Harleyford on 26th March, but fuel low. Where can I fuel at this time of year between the two?

No been for a very long while but the only place I can think of is Hobbs at Henley if its still there and selling petrol!

Theres only Hobbs at Henley but personely I'd wait until they had fresh fuel, you'll get whats been sitting there all winter. Your barely going to need a gallon for that trip so if your really low I'd get a jerrycan full from a local roadside garage.

Yes, you would have thought so!! Web 1 1/2 months out of date, phone, incorrect and a week out of date. managed to get the lock keepers number......Marsh is open 2 weeks ahead of schedule. You thought they would be shouting out about it!

I agree - but Hobbs opening hours are a bit of a lottery this time of year - use a couple of gallons from Tesco and spend the change at the pub.

I am planning to move that weekend too from VW, but am not sure they will have slipped it by then.

I thought Marsh must have been finished as both ends have new gates on them. All I need to do now is check on Boulters...

Yep, mine went in last Thursday. About 20 are in....even went for a sail on Sunday...t'was grand! I would ring the lock keeper, as it would appear most locks opened earlier due to slow flow.

Re Fuel at VW.....not for a long time.

You can buy Gas if you can find a gap to moor in.

So looks like jerry cans it is then......doesnt say whether its diesel or petrol.

Either way, fuel tank so low cant get from ValW's to Harleyford is a bit dire isnt it? never let mine get below quarter full at least.
