I’ve been thinking about buying an 8m RIB and keeping her on a floating dock of some sort. And then my mind wandered to what the resale value of these things is once they reach a few years old and/or what one would do with all those bulky plastic boxes if I sold the boat but couldn’t find a new owner for them - it‘s not like you can take them home and pop them in the wheely bin. Has anyone had any experience of these things in their later life?

They're like cockroaches and have a resale value; once the plasticiser is leached out enough to cause embrittlement then they can go in the recycling.

I bought a used dock for a 6.1m bowrider several years back for about £1000
Picked it up on a flat bed trailer I rented with a winch
Sold it I think for a little less I think, and the new owner picked up from the marina I had her on.
He had the marina lift her with the boat hoist directly onto his boat trailer with all the parts still connected to each other.
Was a bit touch and go though timing wise before my mooring expired.

Not sure how old she was, but was no spring chicken, and still had loads of life left in her.
