Testing Nasa Depth transducer

We have a Nasa Target depth sounder which has decided to start playing up.

The installation was previously working fine.

The unit powers up and display appears but the depth is not correct. The button functions still work as per the instructions.

We have an in hull transducer kit and I have checked that there is no air bubbles in there.

I suspect a problem with the wiring to the transducer or a fault with the transducer itself.

Does anyone know how to test these transducers?

mine failed. It was silent. The new one, that works, makes a clicking noise.
