Testers needed for new sailing iPhone App - RNLI donation per tester*

A while ago, I was looking for testers for a new iPhone app. Version 1 is finally finished!

I'm looking for some beta testers who regularly go cruising to try it out and give some feedback. Last time I asked there was a good number of people interested so I'm hoping there is still an appetite :)

What's the App?
It's a sailing log book called 'Saild'. Yes there are others, we have a slightly different long term goal of being simple and gleaning as much from the data collected as possible. The app is also currently free to download.

Why get feedback?
The first release is naturally still quite simple but in order to help steer us in the right direction we need good quality feedback.

To keep karma happy I'll donate £5/person who takes part in testing to the RNLI *up to a max of 25ppl. By feedback I mean answering a questionnaire rather than just posting below.

That said any feedback you do want to post below would be much appreciated..

What next..
If you're interested and have an iPhone (sorry I don't have any to give away) please show your interest below and I'll drop you a PM.

Thanks!
Duncan

Happy to give it a try for you, but I'm out of the water until 9th March, and then probably won't really get very active til beginning of April, so I don't know what your timescales are?

Thanks, really looking for the brave who are out in the nice warm winter temperatures :) but if there aren't any I'll let you know.. This is to influence features that we're hoping to add by Spring.

Happy to help - we are living aboard and cruising this year from Turkey through Med to Caribbean in November/December (not ARC). Not sure if your app is for UK waters of further afield, but if we can help, happy to do so.

Hi Tulu, that would be great. I hope that by then we'll have had a few newer versions out :)

Hi
I have an Iphone and hope to be cruising week after next for a week and as often as possible thereafter so woul;d be happy to give it a go...

Have pm'd you

Have downloaded app, registered on site and put in a few of our passages over the last eighteen months - nearly six thousand miles so far. Will start cruising again in a month or so, with a quick trip to Rhodes and back, only 80 odd miles.

No deal on Pro upgrade for early users? Cheeeky......

If you port it to android I can test it for you ! :D, after all, the android v's apple poll on here shows that android has a bigger market share than all the others put together :D:D (can open, worms everywhere!!)

Thanks to everyone who has offered to help so far I'll send you a PM if you haven't already sent me one..

Android is on the list for the not too distant future :) I love both!

I'm out teaching in the Solent for the next three weekends and then over the BVIs at the end of the month so I'll download it and let you know how I get on!

I've already downloaded it - off out tomorrow so it will get it's first use :)

Got some day skip candidates on a Vic 34' this weekend, then a NAJAD 31 the following two. I was out last weekend and it was pretty quiet!

I've got some dayskippers and a yachtmaster for 4 days starting tomorrow. Starting in the Itchen, I'll look out for you, doubt many will be out.

I had to take to the dinghy today and do some leaning underwater stuff to get to some props. It was quite chilly.........

I'll be on Evenstar, my Sealine S37. The front covers will be up and the eber on so I'll be warmer than you sorry, though the weekend is warming up to a balmy 5 degrees by the look of it :)
