I was trying to delete the whole thing but that facility seems to be diabled !!!

Look my post has gone!!
When you click on edit there is a list of options below the big text box, save, delete, go advanced. Do you not see these?

I don't know if this is the answer, but it seems to solve most editing problems:

Go to User CP>Settings and Options>Edit Options then scroll down to Miscellaneous Options and select Standard Editor from the drop down box.
