Tender for Yachts below 50ft. Designing a new concept!

Sounds more like something Dylan would try - or at least that SaltyJohn would draw :)

Pete

Strangely enough one of our interns at the Insititute of Marine Psychology is working on a research study looking at the beneficial effects of owning a larger boat.

We are working on the theory that an extra two feet can make all the difference to longevity and libido for the over 50's.

We have a not insignificant grant available for this study. The idea is to use the money to buy better boats for five carefully selected old blokes.

. We are currently working on the questionaire. Hold tight lads.... our researcher Dr Rita Cambazola has it all in hand.

I would like to be formally considered for your Institute's grant aid in order to purchase a larger boat.

At a recent party I overheard my dear wife telling a friend that " ....he could do with an extra few inches". So the family is as one.

Yours etc,

Yours etc,

I will put you on the list as you do sound like a good candidate

we will require complete honesty when it coms to filling in the questionaire

we will be organising the global launch as soon as we can get some well known sailing luminaries involved

at the moment sprightly Sir Robin, the saintly Cunliff and the weeping Ellen have all agreed to throw their weight behind the project

The sponsors are really keen on this and we have the same people who landed the Quatar deal on board

Good eh!

Good luck with your project. The survey is much better designed than most.

There were a few questions which, like others, I found a bit ambiguous.
1. How often do you use your tender/dinghy? (Options being a % of time).
- It is hard to know what your mean by this question.
- Presumably, you mean, "For each day that you are on your boat"
- Perhaps, it would be more meaningful to give options of "Daily, "6 days a week", "5 days a week" ........ "1 day a week", etc.

2. How is your tender stored.
- Multiple selections are needed. (e.g. for those who sometimes stow their dinghy and sometimes tow it.)

3. You ask "how long each tender session lasts on average"
- Do you mean this to include the inflation / deflation / launching / retrieval (which can take longer than the actual journey!)

4. If you were to buy a new Yacht would the tender storage affect.... etc.
- This has a field but I assume you want a "Yes"/"no"/Don't know" answer.

The survey is of a high standard so I hope you appreciate that I only make these suggestions in a attempt to be of some assistance.
