The first thing I do with our tender (Dougie) is curse and swear trying to get him out of the quarter berth where he lives, then I bang my head on the boom coming up the hatch, then fall forward into the cockpit onto dinghy, bag, beloved etc. then i bang my knee on the halyard winch getting bag on deck, closely followed by getting whole shooting match caught on shrouds on the way to the foredeck.

From then on it gets worse....

Claymore has Davits

I commend them to you as they provide an excellent way of storing the dinghy and much fun can be had leaving pontoons with those electricity and water thingies when the dinghy hooks itself neatly around them

Re: Claymore has Davits

Yup, would be nice, however I believe either an aft-deck or a transom are required to mount davits on, both of which were omitted in Msr. Finot's design of the First Class 8!

Don't forget the amound of "interesting things" that can occur on the foredeck also, cleats, lifelings, grab rails, forehatch, fairleads etc etc, Oh! What joy!

And thats just little old me with a foot pump, can you imagine the fun and larks I'm going to have with my indended purchase of an electric pumper upper! All the Mayhem, in a 10th of the time!!

Re: the New Tender

old hat, ma son. order placed for the flying dinghy kit (if 1,000th customer might get it free) ... it's got a strap-on aero 2 stroke engine and wings, no pilot licence etc etc just what i need and should keep ra missus dry.

wings utilise old sails, dodgers etc. old dinghy will be used and can use tiller (if i had one) for prop ... not sure in blurb how much booze it can carry?

Re: Claymore has Davits

The best thing to buy for an inflatable tender is the LVM electric pump, I have had one for years and makes that tedious back breaking job of tender expansion into a work of almost enjoyment - especially great when on the pontoon at the folly when lots of other people are exercising their legs/backs. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Claymore has Davits

Oh - I always thought you kept it inflated when you have it on davits otherwise it just sags and looks messy. I've always just got it blown up in April and left it at that
