Ardrishaig, it has been blowing stink from the SE all day here with the spray flying over the lighthouse, only one boat left the Canal, Tenacity of Bolton with a crew of schoolgirls heading south. I was impressed not only by their determination to get back to school but also by the boat itself. I have never seen a school project to match it, a sturdy ketch built of ferro. but really well finished and with all the right gear. The name is really apt as apparently she took ten years to build and the kids who started with her were long gone by the time she was launched. It made me feel good just to watch her crashing southward, I hope they get some better weather soon.
