Temporary Thames licence

It's an outboard - a Yamaha 4hp two stroke. I was a little uncertain about it, but - touch wood - she's been as good as gold (if a little grumpy about idling).

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. It's one of those things that I'll just have to get what I'm given. This was interesting - found it this morning. It's suggests that the minimum dredged depth is 3' 7" (though I disagree with their conversion - 1m = 3' 4"), and in any event, that hasn't really been my experience (or yours, Chris_d) so far...

[edit] Having rung C&RT, they pointed me to this - https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/media/library/1059.pdf. It's still kind of vague, but they suggest I shouldn't meet anything shallower than 3' 6". Hmm. We'll see...
