Yippee we now have temp gauges on the flybridge very expensive but worth it as we used genuine Volvo parts.

Peace of mind at last. The great thing was it was already wired for them.
Why on earth Sealine not install them I don't know, possibly the most important piece of information needed up there.
By the time the alarm goes off it can be too late.

My BMW doesn't have one either. Wiered must be a conspiracy

Its a standard loom that will work with all options, they are not fitted due to cost.

I see it as an investment, £300 is a small price to pay comparing to a the possibility of a seized engine.

I agree, but pushes up the starting price and doesn't look so good in the brochure, there's many other things like this that could be added aswell but put them all in and you bump up price by quite a lot.

Have you concidered the Noland analogue/digital converter. It converts the analogue engine signals to NMEA 2000 that can then be displayed on a compatible plotter. I installed this on my Phantom 38 and it works really well. My garmin plotters are networked so I did not have to pull any additional cables to the flybridge helm. Also the display can be set up so that it shows the engine data digitally along with the charts, works really good. Now I can see not only oil pressure and temps but also tanks.

I would think there are many things on boat fitting out that possibly could save money, anyway Sealine would I'm sure get the gauges cheaper than me.Its like the weakest link in a chain,if your up stairs you may as well have no gauges at all.Keep things simples, one less thing to go wrong hopefully.

I couldn't go down electronic route anyway as my Raymarine RL70C and RC520 gps are probably too old. I use them as a back up to I Sailor on the I Pad.I have a feeling this will be the way forward for us budget boaters.Even if we didn't have the I Pad I still think my old units are sufficient for my needs.Cheapskate that I am. Why pay hundreds if not thousands for something you have already that does the job anyway. Its like mobile phones and washing machine program's there is a limit to what you want to do with them that's useful.

Did you have to change the senders ? On mine the manual states that different senders are required if using full gauges at both helm stations.

Yes they do have to be changed although in past years I've done some trick wiring that can be done with other sensors to keep the cost down.
