Telly tonight (Tues). Thames barges

Watched it. Rather disappointing, but wouldn't really have expected much better. Now left SWMBO watching Emergency Ward 10 or what ever they call it these days.

Agreed. Very thin.

Can't believe there are really people who want to save old barges which are just money pits. Even theestarry-eyed restorer admitted that 90% of the structure would have to be replaced.

Saw that old sailing barge in Faversham Creek a month or two ago.Thought it had been abandoned and was trying to work out how long it would keep my wood burner going during the winter.
Admire the chap,but surely he can have no inkling as to what he has let himself in for.Even if finished the thing will surely be worth a fraction of what it cost to restore.Almost certainly cheaper to build a new one from scratch.
