Telescopic Whisker Poles

I had a home-adapted 2 piece extending decorator roller handle for a whisker pole on my 150% genny on a 9m boat. Ok in light winds when not extended, but first time I used it extended to get a better length for the genny in f3/4 winds, it bent beyond repair within minutes. big forces involved in these set ups. Still looking for a budget usable alternative.
 
The pole arrived and as mentioned if you use the two larger tubes it MAY work. I have made it up and guessing it will safely extend to 3.5mtrs, it will go out further but the strength is not good (Very bendy). I have a friend who's boat is going in the water in a couple of weeks and will test it further, I think it may be ok for boats of up to 25' but only as a Whisker pole. The ends are dinghy piston ends so the eye on the mast needs to be small, something to check! The cost if it works including the ends comes out at about £50, this is cheap if it works however expensive if it fails the first time you use it!
