Telescopic whisker pole

I am looking for a twist lock type whisker pole for my Manta 19. It is for a roller genoa with a foot length of 3.0m so I assume it needs a minimum length of 2.5m when extended. I have seen them in a West Marine catalogue (US) but am a bit sceptical about ordering such an easily damaged object from the US. There must be someone in this country who supplies reasonably priced poles but I cannot find them. Any suggestions of suppliers would be welcome.

What is the formula for calculating max length of pole needed?

Mailspeed at Warrington also stock them but not partcularly cheap.
