Anybody out there used Tek-Dek "teak" deck strips, I want to use it on my cockpit seats and hatches etc.

The pictures on their website look like the real thing and it looks fairly easy to apply, any info or advice would be useful.

Thanks

I almost used it to build my foredeck but bottled out. I got a sample sent to me from Tek-Dek and it does indeed look very good. If you contact them they will no doubt send you out a sample.

I decided against when I found stainless mesh which I have to say looks pretty stunning, Tek-Dek is not cheap and I was afraid upon completion it might not have looked very good (i.e. I would not have fitted it like a pro), I would have had to back it on marine ply. All in the costs would have been far greater, I have seen cockpit seats done with it and they do look great...give them a call. They were very helpful from what I remember.

Tek-Dek from Tek-Tanks looks superb, with none of the drawbacks of teak. I found the company extremely friendly to deal with. I bought a fuel tank from them and they showed myself, SWMBO & Forbsie around the place. They couldn't have been nicer to deal with and when I change out my fresh water tank in the next 2 months, I will go back to them again. They have samples of hatch covers and as on the websit and in the brochure, they have a standing model of the prow of a yacht covered with Tek-Dek and I think it looks great. It is my intention to redo my cockpit floor panels in 1/2 inch marine ply covered with Tek-Dek.
Very nice people. They will make up panels etc. according to any template you send and mail it back ready cut all you have to do is fit it according to instructions. They also make tanks to fit just about anywhere. Again, just send them a template.
They are also in the process of building a preproduction jet Rib, which looks very good.

Posed the same question on the forum a few months ago and had negative answers - No back up from agents etc, wonder if agents have changed ?
