tek decking in cockpit best prices

I was thinking of doing this in the cockipt of my sail yacht, however I am not prepared to pay £130 per m2. Is this about correct, or is this very exp, and does anyone know any other option, or cheaper decking? I want a product similar to tek decking but surely i dont have to fork out this much?

I have just recovered the cockpit sole with industrial grade vinyl flooring. It has bits of mica through the surface and is very non-slip.
I got mine buckshee so couldn't be picky about colour, so its a sort of slate blue. It replaced tek-dek which had been badly applied and was worn and stained. I just used exterior mastic glue to stick the vinyl stuff down. So far its working well and is easier to clean than tek-dek.

Price is about right for the basic stuff. Tek Dek and Wilkes are about the same. If you think that is expensive, get a quote for real teak! Only cheaper way of getting a teak finish is to use strips of 2.6mm veneer from Robbins Timber which comes out with Sikaflex to fix and caulk about half the price of fake, but not easy to lay and get looking good. Works well if you epoxy it onto 12mm ply - I did my cockpit seats 20 years ago and they still look good.

Other way for a cockpit sole is to make a teak grid from a kit such as from KJ Howells in Poole, but still not cheap.

I did mine in Marinedeck 2000 about 10 years ago. Excellent product that has lasted very well. It's cork strips glued down individually, so maybe cheaper than a single sheet but more labour intensive.

Here it is not long after first laid. Instruction and kit then was to seal the cork with a two-pack polyurethane sealant but now they recommend doing nothing.

It's now a little darker and slightly marked here and there, but basically as good as the day we did it.

The cockpit sole has been done since then in TBS non-slip. Works well but not very substantial. Always a fear that we will damage it.
