There seems to be 'something in the air' about teeny-weeny boats.

Yon antipodean Don McIntyre fellow has hyped a bundle of 5.80 metre homebuilds into the water, and some are aiming to do a RTW.
The Frenchies - especially the Bretons - have shown the way in no uncertain terms with their 'Solitaire du Figaro' and 'MiniTransat 6.50' series.

Rather than seeking to stretch the upper size limit for the 'Jester' participants, we should now be thinking of lowering the lower limit....

Here's something to look at..... Solar-assisted, volcanic-composite sailing yacht navigating world's toughest waters

Join up with the interestingly crazy people involved in the Setka Atlantic Challenge. Quite nice 5 metre boat that are the direct ancestor of the McIntyre's 5.80, they've been successfully racing across the Atlantic for years now. A few have sailed back again. :)

Having sailed “back” it is a completely Different kettle of fish?
