I'm trying to find a supplier of a reducing tee piece connector to connect 15mm hose to 20mm hose (barbed connection) so 20-15-20. Anyone any idea who might supply it ? - plumb centre just gave one of those teeth sucking responses and chandleries only do equal tees.

Dont know off hand, but if you dont mind brass and a few ounces of excess weight you can make one up. Use a brass T, inch BSP female on all three outlets. Into 2 of them screw a barbed 19mm hose connector. On the third one screw in a reducer to the next size down of BSP then a smaller barb.

But before doing this I'd call www.aquafax.co.uk. They might have a more efficient solution, and if not can sell you the aforementioned jigsaw puzzle solution. They have more extensive range of these sort of bits than say www.sea-screw.co.uk

I have used the following company www.mcmaster.com in a professional capacity for years. They sell just about every component you could think of. They are american but dont let that put you off as their delivery and prices are good. I have looked for bilge pipe fittings before and came accross various barbed plastic fittings in there paper catalogue. I couldnt find them any where else.

Am in a different country so may not reflect UK situation. It is generally hard to get small plastic fittings, especially hosetails, and I assume that is because they will be unreliable due to fragility.

My practice, as well as that of the few boatbuilders I have discussed this matter with, is to use ss fittings which are readily available (in 316 too), especially if exposed to salt water. If problems tracking them down, any industrial hose specialist place (eg like do hydraulic hoses and repairs) stock them. Provided one goes for standard type fittings (tees, bends, bushes, hosetails, etc) they are surprisingly cheap (well, here anyway /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif).
