I too suffer from keyboard dyslexia.
I thought the handle was the bit sailors usually wrap string around when they park their boats. There seems to be a handle on each corner which would be useful if they wanted to lift their boats off of the rocks. Some boats even have two more handles, one each side, more or less in the middle, which would let two extra blokes help with the lifting.
