Technodrive TMC-40 gearbox

Somebody painted my engine (Beta BZ482) and painted over the geabox breather. I've cleaned it up but it's in poor condition so I bought a replacement - which doesn't fit. Can anybody tell me what the thread is ( I make it M10x1.0, which would be unusual but not imoossible) - I can't lay hands on a manual.

Can you screw a bolt in and hence know the thread? M10 with 1.0 pitch is rare.

I've some M10x1.5 (the normal thread) which doesn't fit, but no x1.0, but the thread gauge indicates it is a x1.0

I have the owner’s manual for this gear box, approx. 2005, but it is not very detailed and I cannot find any information about breather thread size.

M10 x 1mm seems entirely believable for a threaded breather, you can get bleed nipples in this thread.
Might want to bore one out a bit?
ebay or your local car spares place.
ISTR it's also pushibke derailleur hanger thread or is that 1.25mm pitch?
