I'm looking for about 350sq ft of teak decking that i can apply to an existing plywood deck laid last year which has been primed and covered with garage floor paint. Will i need to strip the paint before commencing? Also as i'm new to deck laying is there an idiot guide to appling the teak strips without screwing. I've been adviced to screw down the planks with oversized washers between the planks until there stuck then once removed i can cork? Any information about teak and glue/sealant would be a great help

i've not made a teak decks for a boat, tho many seem not to need screwing down. "Lost nail " or "lost screw" or glue or both i guess.

I made a deck at home, bout 80 sq yards, and then did another bout 200 sq yards with not-so-good newer wood which moved and wd next time always try to use very old or reclaimed wood - get it planed/sawn to size. Course, you need to sand afterwards anyway so no big deal and shoul be a better result imho.

lots of wood yards will supply teak/iroko. For reclaimed stuff there are thinsg like
