I know of no particular reason why oxalic acid needs to be pink, and in fact if you keep the part2 of these chemicals a long time (like 2 years) then the pink colour will fade a lot. So i reckon if you know it's oxalic acid, that'll be fine.
Oh, as a "brightener" oxalic acid is humho ok on teak, and quite good on grp, and also clears rust stains from metal and grp.
