Anyone know of a UK source for Teak Veneer - not teak faced ply, just the veneer.

Yes Cliff, Robbins is pretty good. They will also sell you (or at least used to stock) rolls of "iron on" glue. Iron on to one side of veneer, peel backing and iron on veneer to surface. Works a treat but you need to practice and dont get the iron too hot or the veneer will shrink and crack.

I don't need an 8' X 4' sheet but I'll give them a call - maybe they do smaller sheets or even off-cuts.

Cheers lads - I had forgotten about Robbins.

It doesn't come in 8x4 sheets anyway Cliff. (Trees aren't that wide /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif)
It will come rolled up in widths of about 18 inches usually about 6 ft long.
I am sure the glue sheet can be bought in small quantities but if you can't get it PM me, I might still have a roll in the loft...... (Solent area)

OK yes I see! This is indeed new and will hopefully get over the problem of applying heat. At that thickness you might be better off using contact adhesive, especially if you can use the 1.5mm. I would however ask how thick the veneer itself is though as you will still need to sand it lightly for a good finish.....
If its only a small bit you need though iron on veneer will be cheaper.
