A crack has appeared in the woodwork of the side rails on our boat. These are made up of 50mm x 50mm approx. strips of teak, glued together to produce a "rail" approx. 200mm wide x 50mm deep. The crack has appeared along one of the glued joints.

Any suggestions please as to what we should do to repair/fill this? We left the teak in its natural (grey) condition but may well now start to regularly oil it. Any recommendations on oils as well please?

Thanks.

Not sure about fixing the crack, other peeps on here WAY more experienced than I! However, I would recommend Endeavour Oil and wax for subsequent treatment. Been using it for a couple of seasons now and very impressed. Details of the product here:

We bought ours at SIBS from K J Howells, here: http://www.kjhowells.com/welcome.htm

Perhaps not cheap , but coverage is good and so it is good value.

Follow the application instructions to the letter and use the white wax, gives a great finish!!
