Hi,

I´m upgrading my "swim platform" teak on my 2003 Fariline Targa 34, teak completely worn out and cannot be grinded anymore..
Any advice, should I contact Fairline to get the teak panels sent to me or what should I do? Also, I want to install some blue LEDs on both the port and starboard sides in the front lower corners of the swim platforms.. saw a pic here on ybw of someone who had this done on a bigger boat and looks stunning!! couldn't find the link no more but want those lights, any advice on where to buy??

also need Webasto 3, 4 or 5 model, where can I buy cheap? I have a Webasto 1 but completely useless in May or Sept-Oct

Don't get Fairline to do it - unless you want teak faced plywood again.

Get someone like KJ Howells of pool to make new panels.

Alternatively get the panel made in one of the teak substitute products that mean you will never have this issue again.

1) Teak, either contact Essex Boat Yards or Wattsons - http://www.teakdecking.co.uk/.
2) Lights are Lumishore - http://www.lumishore.com/ beware of imitations.

This might very well confuse the matter, so apologies if so. This photo (the first one I could easily find) shows both the excellent Lumishore underwater lights, and also the bathing platform lights that I think the OP was asking about (the port bathing platform is clearly visible by the cleat):

These particular bathing platform lights are just Hella warm whites (also available in blue):

I have fitted the lights to the swim seck buttresses of our Targa 34, I found the Hella blue LED lights an exact match for the existing cockpit blue lights, so I added a few extra in the cockpit and to the radar arch as well whilst I was at it! I also have a duel switch at the helm now, stage 1 does the blue lights in the cockpit and swim platform buttresses and stage 2 the cockpit and buttress blue lights plus the white over head lights on the radar arch.

As for teak, our swim deck still looks ok but on our previous boat I had Osmotec at Hamble Point fit the swim deck teak, brilliant job. I have also had Taff Howells do some teak work for me, he is related to but now work wise independent of Howells of Poole, again an excellent job.

As a point of warning as our Targa 34's are of a similar age, we have just had to replace our sea cocks due to dezincification, full on water coming into the boat / emergency lift out etc. just a word of warning.

Good advice. Should your boat sink in such circumstances, you may find yourselves battling with your insurer for them to pay out.

We installed blue LED lights on our Targa 35.....try Timage.....they have an extensive range and we were pleased with ours.

cool just what I´m looking for! will send the link to my shipyard guys

Are all your pipes lagged? I lagged mine in January and gave it the option of re circulating and I'm amazed at the difference. An extra 35f is now coming out the furthest vent.
