Does anyone know what this moulding is called in boat terms? I can only refer to it as "the wooden trim that goes around the hole where I store sheets and lines". I need to get mine replaced (you can see in the photo one is badly broken and doesn't look so good). If I knew what it was called it would be easier to search for replacements.

Also does anyone know where I might get one, or how to go about trying to replace it myself?

That will have been machined specifically for that job so unlikely you will find an off the shelf moulding. You may find you can make up a replacement using mouldings from www.kjhowells.com in Poole. They do premachined radius and straight mouldings, but you will need to check your sizes.

why not repair it, after all its straight grain. the only reason it has broke is nothing sticking it back to the combing.
if you want an off-cut of teak give me the dims.i will send you some

Hi Sailor man. Many thanks for your kind offer of helping me to repair my combing trim. I did think about trying to repair it, but didn't know how to do that or where to get an off-cut from.

Do you think it would be best to remove the old trim clean it, cut a straight edge on the broken piece, cut and shape the new piece to be added?

This is an expensive new version in the US that shows the sizes:
http://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=385&ParentCat=42

The height of the trim is 6 inches and the 'width' of the radius approx 3 inches.

I would repair what you have "in-situ" chisel & or a bull nosed plane to straighten the existing broken edge, offer up & mark a new piece, cut & fix with mastic with the teak glued to the old edge
