Teak decking & Lichen?

First, wash down with salt water and let it dry out in the sun - that gets a lot off. If you don't have enough sun:

Scrub lightly across the grain with lots of sea water. The best scrubber is a medium scouring pad (doesn't dig out the grooves). Don't use a pressure washer if you want the long life out of the deck - it'll scour the soft grain out and leave hard grain ridges. And for the same reason don't scrub along the grain, and if you use a brush, only brush cross grain.

Thanks for all the advice. The areas tend to be in the shade so lack of sun I can understand. Also the need for sea water. I don't want to use a pressure washer or cleaning materials, but I like the sound of the Mould and Mildew Cleaner. I'll give it a try.

it was recomended to me
done my 2 yr old hood a treat, one side stays damp & gets a bit green.
the chap who recomended it had left his boat many weeks unused it was covered in mould + greem stuff.
he sprayed her one w/e the following w/e hose down all green ect gone.
i then recomended it to others, one chap sprayed his house roof all the litchen / moss gone /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
