Teak decking , bare with me

So I was treating my covers with fabsil , layed out on the jetty. We then fitted the covers and it started raining and where I had brushed Fabsil on the jetty , it was bone dry. So could it work on the boat after it has been cleaned and restored. Has anyone used it .

But would it be slippery under foot? I recently saw a teak deck that had been varnished! I confess that I am intruder for I often cruise at 20degrees to the vertical where slippery decks are a killer.

Well I am thinking of trying on two bits teak one left exposed on the boat and one hung over board in the water.

I've just been sanding my Teak and using Semco as a sealer. I'd certainly be tempted to find a discreet little spot and give Fabsil a go and see what happens. I can't see it doing any harm so long as you don't test it on a big space that you're gonna be walking on in the rain.. Just in case it causes slippiness.

I think Thomson's Water Seal might also work to do the same

Coated our extremely porous house bricks with 2 coats of thompsons. Was brilliant - for a few weeks then the bricks went back to their extremely absorbent state.
Found fabsil on sprayhood very short lived. White diesel lasted longer and was a lot cheaper.

Fabsil is great for covers and canopies. Never heard of it being used on decking.

Seems to bead pretty well.

If its fabsil then 2-3 weeks.

I used fabsil on covers on both boats at the start of the season. The initial beading was impressive but didn't last very long. Regular version, not Gold. Hope you get better results.
