Please can I have some advice re: my teak deck. Some of the Sikaflex between the individual boards has come out. How do I replace it ie. is there a special tool to get it in the "groove", how do you level it off wet/dry etc.
Thanks for any advice.

Generally people make their own tool, tang of a file shaped etc. Daveys might do one. Also Draper's do a range of spikes and scrapers including a right angled spike that you might find helpful. But as I said generally to get the shape that fits your seams its best to make your own.

At the bottom of the seam there should be a bond breaker to stop the new mastic sticking to the base - you only want it to stick to each side of the teak. Arbo certainly make a bond breaker but I suspect Sikaflex do as well. I used Arbo on mine and their recommended a primer for the teak so the method was clean out the old seam, insert the bond breaker, prime the seams and insert the goo. I assume this is on a glass deck? If however, it is a real deck (by that I mean functional rather than decorative) then you will need to caulk the bottom of the seam before putting the bond breaker in.

Overfill the seams slightly and sand when its hardened. Didn't use wet and dry, just dry and that worked.

On a Hallberg Rassy the teak deck is a 12 mm screwed and plugged deck with the Sikaflex rebate routed out to a depth of approx 6mm.Because this rebate does not go to the full depth of the plank it is not necessary to mask the bottom of the seam only the two sides to keep the job clean.

Thank you for the information. As you say the gap between the planking on a HR is very narrow and it looks like a very fiddly job, but i'll give it a try.
