Anyone recommend any teak deck restorers.
the story goes;
Boat 25 years old. (high quality Dutch build)
Some screw heads showing through.
Deck originally 14mm thick so well over a decade of life left, just on high wear areas caulking looks a little proud and the fact some screw heads showing means in places 5mm of wear has occurred. Solid teak deck, no ply backing. Plenty of meat left to remove screws, re countersink and replace with teak plug on top...
We are selling & want to make boat look as good as possible, interior & rest of exterior very smart. I am not 100% decided on this course of action as deck looks fair at the moment, apart from a few screw heads, may end up leaving a deck renovation as a negotiation tool, but as new decks a fair wedge fair to assume a buyer may wish to use deck to beat us up, even though boat will be priced accordingly!
So, getting to reason for post is - if anyone knows of a tame boat builder, teak deck experts... , maybe self employed, who undertakes such work. Waiting for Osmotech to come back with quote, nice to have a more artisan comparison.. their plan was to reduce caulking height at high points, sand all decks to remove any teak ridges and make look like new then deal with screw heads
Many thanks
James
