I am in the process of removing the complete foredeck and having removed all the stainless screws I'm having a hell of a job getting the teak up! It's set onto some sort of black mastic substance that is really difficult to chisel up.

Does anyone have any tips for power tools (some sort of power scraper) that would get through the mastic and under the teak or is it just a matter of persevering with the old chisel and crowbar?

Anything ways to make the job easier gratefully received!

Yes, I have a Fein and the tool itself so will give it a try.

The mastic is not solid but still very rubber like and thus tends to "bounce" the chisel when hit!

Thanks for the ideas though.

Well I can fit it in OK, interesting contraption and will look at what's available locally to hire ... thanks for the idea
