Teak deck protection in the shed

Has anyone used carpet protection film/surface protection film on teak decks whilst working in the shed e.g. preventing varnish spills/drips when working on cabin sides/bulwarks/cockpit coamings etc?

yes - usually old dust sheets or curtains from home for free.........
