I have bought a boat with a teak deck and wnat to know how best to look after it. At the moment it is going grey but there are patches of green around fittings. The problem is that I was in the Andrew when we still holystoned wooden decks (scrub forward, scrub aft and all that jazz) and old habits die hard.
At the boat show I saw a product called Teak Wonder, which claims to be the answer to a maiden's prayer. I note however it says that the sealing coat seals the pores of the wood with silicon. Does this affect the non slip performance of the teak? Has anyone tried Teak Wonder? Does it last and if so for how long? Was the finiish what was hoped?
Or should I just follow the builders instructions and let the deck go grey washing down with water and a soft brush?
I know the question has been asked before but I cannot find a reference to Teak Wonder
