I have a teak deck, and this is what the (Oyster) owners manual says:-
"To maintain the original appearance of the deck, regular cleaning and treatment with a preservative is necessary. If the grey 'weathered' look is preferred, allow the deck to weather and then clean as necessary with non-detergent soap and water.
"A soft scrubbing brush can be used for cleaning the teak but care should be taken to scrub across the wood and not just in a fore and aft direction as the latter can cause undue wear over a period of time.
"High pressure water sprays should only be used with very great care. Do not hold the nozzle too close to the wood or the jet will have a damaging effect removing parts of the wood. The jet should be played onto the deck at an angle of about 45 degrees and in line with the wood grain.
