Anyone listen to it?
You should.

He describes a yacht test sail in the Solent (30kts of wind).
Despite being Cat A, the boat's just not up to it.
Horror story follows (including a near MOB situation).

Despite being so obviously unfit for purpose the make/model is never revealed.
Why? (apart from the obvious commercial reasons) And what does this say about YM's editorial independence?

Is there no duty to inform? Should you be unfortunate enough to buy this boat and subsequently come to harm, could you sue IPC for negligence? If you know something's wrong, but you keep quiet about it...

His point appeared to be that any number of boats made to similar designs would suffer the same problem. So no need to single out this one I guess.

But it would be good to know just how extreme this design was - e.g. had a narrow fin keel with bulb. How light was the displacement and how big was it's bum?

If there's more than one of these about, surely there's an even greater need to 'name & shame'
Despite the damnation of the MAB brigade my 35' racy AWB takes me places.

2007 - I did a solo Portsmouth, St. Malo, Fowey, Portsmouth triangle.
2008 - Solo'ed to the West Country plus another solo cruise to SW Ireland which included a 40kt line squall.
2009 - Solo'ed to SW Brittany.

The fact is fin & spade rudder yachts clock up the offshore miles these days, while back at home the MAB brigade re-affirm their group-think delusions by reading dated publications on 1960's ocean cruising.

So TC headed out into a choppy Solent force 8 and hit problems, it must have been a particularly bad design.
