Lots on here will remember tcm - prolific poster up to a few years ago and a guy with a serious gift for comedy writing. And a major boater of course

Those who follow his blog will know this but for anyone else I just wanted to let you know that a couple of hours ago he completed a life long ambition to sail round the world. He docked in st Martin, caribee, in s/y Mojomo, having left there last year. Trip was via Cuba, Panama, Galapagos/Tahiti et al, South Africa, Cape of Good Hope then transat back to St Martin.

That's a major achievement, good on him he certainly gets out there and lives life to the full..

We need him back in the Mobo'ing field - perhaps an overambitious/verging on the foolhardy voyage in the TCM super tender is called for.

I remember him, didn't he have that leopard thing?

He had a beautiful Arno Leopard Sport 23 open. I posted pics of it in build, in 2002. It was berthed in antibes on Mole Sud though one year (2005 mebbe) he brought it up to Port Solent for the summer

Blog is www.mojomo.info but for some reason it stops at March 2012. I'll find out where the rest is (I get it by direct email rahter than looking at the blog, hence my uselessness on this). Get yourself a big bowl of popcorn or something; there is lots of funny stuff to read eg the recent cheese jokes. Suggest read from newest first cos if you start at the beginning we'll not see you till June :). The reference to BxWx and Bx is to Eamonn S, a poster on ybw (Skutbutt more than here) whom many know, and seriously knowlegeable Wx forecaster. (Flowerpower, mjf, JimmyLeBuilder, whitelighter I think you met Eamonn in guinness bar with me @ libs last year?). He sent Mojomo an email most days with razor sharp weather predictons. The etymology of BxWx is actually "bolloxWeather" because some days tcm didn't like the weather that Eamonn predicted

Ah, right, the full blog including today's arrival at St Martin is here http://blog.mailasail.com/mojomo

Previous boat was a Leopard 23.

METRES.

TCM's full boat history is
Fairline Targa 48 (first boat)
Leopard 23 (2nd boat)
Privilege 475 (current boat)

Talking of 23 "METRES" some folks might remember the thread where tcm and family bumped into the Corrie actor Bruce Jones (=Les Battersby) at a bar in Palma, during a cruise in the Leopard. TCM doesn't watch Corrie so had no idea who Les Battersby was. Anyway Bruce is a boater (in conwy, N Wales) so TCM invited him on the Leopard. Bruce asked how big? TCM replied "It's a Leopard 23". Bruce then tried to get out of it and said there wouldn't be much room for everyone :D. Could have done with you to put him right, Flowerpower :)

Funny enough I was wondering what happened to TCM a few weeks ago, remember his posts on here going back to 1999! (or was that 2000).

Well done TCM, I think we would all love to do something like that.

I'll go and get myself a drink and read his blogs, thanks for posting JFM.

Congrats Matt, well done and you're right John, he's a seriously nice bloke. Had a lot of fun on his Leoipard and the day he took delivery went with him on the car trip to Nice. Like a kiddie with a new toy at Xmas he was. Never been driven so fast so consistently. Seven hours dead (and we nearly were) Calais to Nice 770 miles, but that's a story for another day.

Bit disappointed though that he wimped out on the RTW trip. :D

Sort of missed out Asia, the Far and Middle East and then the Red Sea up to the Med. Been half looking forward to his stories of derring do with neer do well Somali pirates etc.

Do we count missing out a big chnk of the workd as a RTW trip or should we make him go again and do it properly?:D

But well done matt.

What's next?

I've only met TCM briefly in a restaurant in Antibes, but i've always enjoyed reading his stories. Well done to him for achieving a life long ambition.

Yup! There were so many classic posts. How to drive fast in France (never make eye contact). How to get a discount on the stansted airport car park fee. Firing the swedish captain on the Leopard the day England got knocked out of 2002 world cup. The ilustrated photo of the bog fix with the Tecma loo on the quai in Antibes. Coliholic falling off the jet tender at 40knots

Anyone remember what tcm stands for and why he adopted the name? :D
