Ellen is 24m thro' a 26m marathon, she has hit the 'wall' where the energy levels drop to irrecoverable levels, she's torn a few muscles has bad blisters, and her shoes are close to falling apart, but she is still just in front of the chasing pack-but the pack keeps suddenly accelerating, then decelerating, forcing her to sprint every few hundred metres to stay ahead. She can nearly see the finish, at the top of a very steep hill. She is fighting to win, but she doesn't know if she can make it...
 
<Dozens of camera crews will occupy the roped-off vantage points, and have already booked all the hotel rooms for miles around, all waiting for a blubbering tcm to arrive in a right old mood and say the words "stress" and "no sleep" dozens of times whilst fighting back the tears.>

ah but

i should explain. See, I'm not *really* building a kitchen at breakneck speed, nor even sailing anything more arduous than a desk. It's just a spoof, a joke. You aren't the first to have mistakenly got hold of the wrong end of the stick, so don't worry. In fact, some people think i'm actually at a desk doing sod all even whilst on a boat. The common theme is doing very little whilst apparently having everything under control - yet with the exciting and alluring air of anarchy and total chaos :-)

Your explanation is most illuminating for those in the dark but fortunately I saw the light as soon as you turned on your satirical torch.

I should add perhaps that my quote was from the Team Ellen website - and a finer example of hyperbole you would struggle to find - hence my reference to your worthy but doomed attempt to match the record.

they have ripped of most of my text, as far as i can see. Also, the single handed attempt is almost entirely sue to the fact that nobody wanted to get the same treatment as Preecy :-)
