Anyone got one of these? It has a disc of what looks like it might be asbestos under the cover so I need to find a substitute as it is falling apart. Otherwise it looks in good order. Don't know where to fit it though!
Came out of an 1898 boat but don't know how old it is.

Sure you're not running a shebeen in your back yard?

I have one of these old heaters in the attic [never been used - ever!] but without the water boiler attachment. For the insulation material I would try a plumbers merchants e.g BES Ltd

yep, there is one of those out in the shed, gave it back to the chap who gave it to me it needs the hanging firebricks replaced and as thes are probably no longer made will probably stay in the shed

Cor, tea on tap. Better than towing a NAAFI tender around. Probably the same vintage too.

Mate of mine used to balance a full kettle on two forks jammed into the front of a Taylors diesel heater..

Result= water that is only moments away from boiling for an early morning cuppa.
