Tattoo 26 and 22 - the new Macs

Taken from the lee bow, she is moderately heeled, to disguise the height of the topsides

My MAC is currently on a pontoon between a Hunter 245 and Sadler 32. Both have higher topsides than MAC. Regarding the wheel, not sure why being small has to be embarrasing but if you want a bigger wheel you can fit one, some people do.

The last thing I want is a wheel at all on a boat that small....

Presumably the reason people buy them is to be able to plane home after a day out sailing. There was a guy in our old boatyard who put a couple of huge diesels in his twin screw motor sailer. iirc he was thinking of putting in some type of retractable skis/foils he could deploy. Unfortunately he passed away before completing his project but I wonder if there would have been any way something like that could work .....

Arrgh!!! My eyes, my eyes. Any boat is better than those monstrosities; even the amphibious caravan, which will at least have the grace to sink quickly.

That is the point.
I want to sail & get a thrill from trimming sails getting the best out of her to windward
Not float in a brick

She looks great, looks like the 22ft version, imagine trimming the sails on the Med one month and then trimming the sails off Brittney the next then the following week your trimming the sails on the broads followed by a few weeks later trimming the sails on lake windermere lots of different views from the cockpit and not a whiff of diesel to boot !

Could do with a bit more tension in the forestay, lots of sag. But if you are buying this boat then performance under sail is probably not high on the priorities list.

The layup of the hull is so thin that you wouldn't get a straight forestay with more tension, just a curved hull. They are cheap, and there's a reason for it.

I can imagine trimming the mast with a chainsaw and converting it into the (fugly) powerboat it really is.
