Tasmanian sailing cargo ketches

There were some old rotten hulks on the river bank of the Mersey River on the way up to Devonport in Tasmania, years ago. I wonder if they were old trading Ketches? We used to leave Melbourne and call at Devonport, it's only 200 odd miles across the Bass Strait, then round to Hobart on the South side and load tons of Apples in crates. Lovely smell.. they were stowed in the 'Tween deck 'fridge Lockers.
