hi folks
has anybody out there got any tips on smartening up alluminium window
frames as mine are quite tarnished
any ideas most welcome
thanks steve.

I polish the dash pots of SU carburetters to a very high shine using pigs fat and a buffer .
You could use med grade cutting compound ( used for cutting back the paint on cars )

Put it on the using a buffer attatched to a drill buff to a satifactorary level

Your frames are almost certainly anodised. Polishing them heavily may remove the anodising, making them more vulnerable to pitting corrosion. If they are really bad it may be worth painting them after etch priming. Otherwise, go easy on the Brasso!

Years ago I had a similar problem with an Al mast and boom - I used, I beleive Deks Olje - I think thats the correct spelling, you just rub it on with wire wool I think - 2 or 3 coats and it came up fine.
